A seasoned performer, Rory has graced renowned festivals such as Reading & Leeds, Isle of Wight, Liverpool Sound City, 2000 Trees, Truck & Y Not Festival. His talents have garnered recognition from BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 Music, Amazing Radio & BBC Introducing. Notably, major publications like Kerrang and Rock Sound have bestowed his music with glowing 4K reviews, solidifying his standing in the music industry.

    Meet Pat Kaye, the esteemed head of vocal tuition at Rok Skool. With a rich tapestry of over 20 years in teaching, Pat's journey is steeped in classical training. Her approach is not just about imparting knowledge but about nurturing individual growth. From the vibrant realms of musical pop to the grand stages of musical theatre and opera, Pat's expertise spans decades, making her a true maestro in the realm of vocal education.

    Christian Le Surf is a prolific singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and mentor, having culminated over ten years' knowledge within the music industry as well as various studies at Northbrook College and WaterBear College of Music. Taking an abstract and chameleonic approach to his work, Christian is known in the Brighton music scene for creating experimental pop worlds that dive into shades of rock, folk and indie pop. In addition, he has performed at a multitude of venues across Sussex, in both solo and band set-ups. Christian also bears an extensive musical knowledge with a wide array of references points from which he can implement into all scenarios.

    I first got on stage at the age of 9.
    ​I'm one fifth of the band Dakka Skanks, a Ska, Reggae, Dub, Punk band based in Brighton. We have toured and performed all across the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland and more. We’ve also had some notable Performances sharing the stage with the likes of Madness, The Selecter, The Specials and The Skints, as supporting acts. We also have played at numerous festivals across the UK such as Boomtown, Victorious and Rebellion to name a few.

    Josh is a professional guitarist and experienced performer who has played some of the UK’s biggest stages, including the Isle of Wight Festival. With a passion for rock, indie and modern guitar music, he brings real-world performance experience into every lesson.

    At Rok Skool, Josh focuses on building confidence, strong technique and a genuine love of music. His lessons are fun, encouraging and tailored to each student’s goals, whether they’re picking up a guitar for the first time or developing into a confident live performer. Josh’s relaxed teaching style helps students progress at their own pace while enjoying every step of their musical journey.

  • Scott Pedley, Teacher

    TEACHES: GUITAR, BASS,DRUMS, KEYS & BAND

    With over a decade of experience performing on stages nationwide, Scott brings a wealth of musical knowledge and passion to his role as a music instructor at JAM. Picking up his first guitar at the age of 8, ignited his love affair with music. Since then, he has honed his craft playing a multitude of instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, piano and vocals through years of preforming live, from intimate solo performances to electrifying gigs with bands. His commitment to music education led him to study songwriting at BIMM, where he further refined his skills to share with eager learners. Scott is thrilled to inspire the next generation of musicians and foster their love for music at JAM.

    Ben has been playing guitar for over 20 years and have spent most of his life in bands. He also play drums, bass and sing and is confident songwriting and has knowledge of the piano. Ben loves exploring all kinds of musical styles, primarily rock and pop. He is passionate about helping students discover the joy of music, and believes learning should be fun, creative, and inspiring. Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or already jamming, Ben is here to help you grow your musical confidence and have a great time doing it!

  • Danielle, Teacher

    TEACHES: Vocals

    Danielle is a professional Vocalist and Performer, she studied Professional Musicianship at BIMM Brighton and qualified with a BA (Hons) degree. She has since gone on to teach vocals, and studied further with specialist qualifications in Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Health. Danielle, until recently, was the leader for BIMM Academy, Live Band Workshops for children and adolescents, for over seven years and has taught pupils both privately and as a peripatetic teacher in schools around Brighton and East Sussex. 

     

    She has years of experience as a performer, touring the country with her original project Fresh like Dexie and at weddings and events with Alive Network Agency. Her unique and soulful vocal style earned her a place with her band at renowned music festivals such as Love Supreme, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and The Great Escape and playing alongside artists such as Chaka Khan, Gregory Porter and Kelis. She has supported Soul II Soul at Worthing Assembly Hall and performed backing vocals for UK Queen, at Legends festival. 

  • Leon, Teacher

    TEACHES: GUITAR, BASS,DRUMS, KEYS & BAND

    Léon is a professional guitarist, performer and music educator with a wealth of international experience both on stage and behind the scenes. Having begun his career in Shanghai at just 17, he has since toured across the UK and Europe, worked with internationally recognised artists, and performed at major festivals including the Isle of Wight Festival and 2000 Trees.

    A graduate of BIMM Brighton and WaterBear College of Music, Léon brings a broad musical background spanning rock, pop, funk and classic ’70s music. Alongside performing and recording with his own band, Ziggy Phoenix, he has worked extensively as a session musician, tour manager and live crew member, giving him a real understanding of the music industry from every angle.

    At Rok Skool, Léon is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop strong technique and most importantly, enjoy making music. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to take your playing to the next level, Léon creates fun, engaging lessons tailored to every student’s goals.

  • Mike Rebiero, Head of Strategy and Operations

    Mike Rebiero has over 30 years experience working as a lawyer, international law, advising on disruptive technologies and innovation. He was a senior partner in a top 10 global law firm and led multinational teams across the Americas, Europe, The Middle East, Asia and Australia. He is also chairman of two national UK charities.
